An Infinite Family of Non-isomorphic C-algebras with Identical K-theory

چکیده
We exhibit a countably infinite family of simple, separable, nuclear, and mutually non-isomorphic C-algebras which agree on K-theory and traces. The algebras do not absorb the Jiang-Su algebra Z tensorially, answering a question of N. C. Phillips. They are also pairwise shape and Morita equivalent, confirming a conjecture from our earlier work. The distinguishing invariant is the radius of comparison, a non-stable invariant of the Cuntz semigroup.

We define united K-theory for real C*-algebras, generalizing Bousfield’s topological united K-theory. United K-theory incorporates three functors — real K-theory, complex K-theory, and self-conjugate K-theory — and the natural transformations among them. The advantage of united K-theory over ordinary K-theory lies in its homological algebraic properties, which allow us to construct a Künneth-ty...
متن کاملA Family of 2-graphs Arising from Two-dimensional Subshifts
Higher-rank graphs (or k-graphs) were introduced by Kumjian and Pask to provide combinatorial models for the higher-rank Cuntz-KriegerC∗-algebras of Robertson and Steger. Here we consider a family of finite 2-graphs whose path spaces are dynamical systems of algebraic origin, as studied by Schmidt and others. We analyse the C∗-algebras of these 2-graphs, find criteria under which they are simpl...
متن کاملOn the independence of K-theory and stable rank for simple C-algebras
Jiang and Su and (independently) Elliott discovered a simple, nuclear, infinite-dimensional C-algebra Z having the same Elliott invariant as the complex numbers. For a nuclear C-algebra A with weakly unperforated K∗-group the Elliott invariant of A ⊗ Z is isomorphic to that of A. Thus, any simple nuclear C-algebra A having a weakly unperforated K∗-group which does not absorb Z provides a counte...

This is the final one in the series of papers where we introduce and study the C∗-algebras associated with topological graphs. In this paper, we get a sufficient condition on topological graphs so that the associated C∗-algebras are simple and purely infinite. Using this result, we give one method to construct all Kirchberg algebras as C∗-algebras associated with topological graphs. 0. Introduc...

We introduce the point degree spectrum of a represented space as a substructure of the Medvedev degrees, which integrates the notion of Turing degrees, enumeration degrees, continuous degrees, and so on. The notion of point degree spectrum creates a connection among various areas of mathematics including computability theory, descriptive set theory, infinite dimensional topology and Banach spac...
